LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Former Spice Girl Melanie "Mel B" Brown will host the next edition of women's cable channel Oxygen's freshman hit "Dance Your Ass Off."
The show will return in the summer on a new night of original programing for the network, Mondays.
"After the birth of my second daughter, I wanted to find a fun and effective way to drop the pounds and get back in shape," said Brown, also known as "Scary Spice." "I learned firsthand that dancing was the key to shedding off the pounds and keeping them off."
The first season was hosted by Marissa Jaret Winokur. It featured 12 full-figured contestants who competed to lose weight by hitting the dance floor.
Oxygen is also developing "Love Games," a spinoff of its successful "Bad Girls Club." The new series is a dating competition, with three former "Bad Girls" vying for the attention of eligible bachelors.
Other new shows include "Hair Battle Spectacular" (competition series featuring "fantasy hair" stylists), "House of Glam" (docu-soap set at celebrity styling company), "When Charlie Met Sarah" (docusoap following former "Bachelor" couple Charlie O'Connell and Sarah Brice) and "Fashion Drop" (where contestants put their fashion knowledge to the test).
