The Toronto International Film Festival starts Sept. 5, showing 349 films over its 11-day run. It also attracts hundreds of movie stars, thousands of journalists and hundreds of thousands of viewers, most of whom wind up in front of me in line. How can you organize yourself? Herewith, one man's guide:
Top five movies by intriguing title:
Glory To The Filmmaker! (Takeshi Kitano, Japan)Young People Fucking (Martin Gero, Canada)My Brother Is An Only Child (Daniele Luchetti, Italy)
The Pope's Toilet (Enrique Fernandes and Cesar Charlone, Uruguay/Brazil/France)
Heavy Metal in Baghdad (Eddy Moretti and Suroosh Alvi, Canada/USA)
Top five people it would be cool to talk to:
Woody Allen: The director everyone wants to work with. He's not doing much press, but he's due in town with his new movie, Cassandra's Dream, with Ewan McGregor and Colin Farrell as troubled brothers who fall in love with the same woman.
