Tarragon theatre sweeps the Doras

Tarragon theatre company scorched its rivals last night, when the 28th annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards -- honouring the best in Toronto theatre -- were handed out at the Winter Garden.In the general theatre division, Tarragon's Scorched won for outstanding production of a play, and its director, Richard Rose, won for best director of a play.
Michael Healey won the outstanding-new-play award, for Generous, another Tarragon production. Healey also received a $5,000 grant from arts patron Bluma Appel who, for the second year in a row, donated her cash prize to the winner of this category.
