Pitch imperfect

Gracie, which might better be titled The Shue Family Vanity Project, falls into the category of heart-warming sports yarns, and, if television still made movies-of-the-week, it would enjoy a rightful home. But TV has long since abandoned that sentimental practice, which may help explain why so many heart-warming sports yarns have been making the trip to the big screen lately. When they arrive, some fit, but most don't, and this one does nothing to improve on that lowly score.
